Wipeout 2048
The birth of Anti-Gravity Racing
The year is 2048. It's over a decade since Pierre Belmondo shattered scientific preconceptions by unveiling to the world's media a working anti-gravity generator that didn't just fashion its own laws, it defied almost four centuries of belief. Science fiction became science fact. Belmondo had not only goaded the gods; he had, in a single moment under the blistering heat of the Nevada sun, reinvented physics. Through its inception, the sport of Anti-Gravity Racing emerged, and with it, the inaugural Anti-Gravity Racing Championships (A.G.R.C.).
Now for the first time ever, five teams take to the starting grids on the streets of Nova State City in a bid for glory. Welcome to the future of motorsport and the birth of ballistic racing. The future of racing is here – RIP gravity.
In Wipeout 2048, each team has four 'classes' of ship:-
Speed class..........(Fast, made for racing, but at the expense of strength and fire power)
Agility class...........(Improved handling, but at the expense of some speed)
Fighter Class.........(Can withstand a lot of damage, and carries a lot of fire power, at the expense of speed and handling)
Prototype class.....(The teams test machine... where they can develop their strengths for future seasons)
My main role on Wipeout2048 was ship designer \ modeller however, I also helped create the ship effects, such as ship shield, leech beam, engine flares, damaged versions, holographic ghost ships and alternate liveries. I also assisted with shader creation, and various design ideas throughout the games development cycle.

The model above is the in game Psvita model \ texture res, and isn't really meant to be rendered in such a way, which is why things may look a bit 'low res' in places!

I've allways been a fan of WipEout, since the begining. I was a little kid when I played the 1st one, which I was not fond of. The 2nd game XL blew me away because the tracks were not only as fun, but it was just fun watching to blow shit up. WipEout 3 was another favorite of mine, espicaly when you guys introduced new teams into the fray. WipEout Fusion I was'nt as fond on either. Yes it was fun and all, but seeing teams like AG-S and Qirex gone made me a bit sad. The modlings were a bit weird too, seeing them go to one ship to another was bleh and being glitched from falls was annoying too. WipEout Pure and Pulse were simply amazing and I would love play Elimator on Pulse, just because it was just damn fun. All of the tracks were entertaining..well cept for Sector 7 on Pulse. HD I fell in love with because of the awsome graphics and I can finally play a game that can do 60 frames per second. Handling them was really well too, espicaly the hard handling teams like Icaras, Auricom and Goteki. I also fell in love with the Multiplayer, loving the fact now I can play with other WipEout fans online now.
As for WipEout 2048, I tried the demo version of it and I liked it, espicaly the graphics you guys took on with this game. It was enjoyable, but sadly I don't have the money to get this and a Vita. Having no job, poor econimy and getting into college for this is taking a toll. The only complaints I have for WipEout 2048 is the lack of teams for starters. I know having the top 5 teams in the franchise is 1 thing, but maybe suggestions could be like have smaller teams who would want to be in the spot light like the origional 5. Some could be isolated and not join the F3600 and others could be asorbed into the other teams. The loading time, I heard was the only complaint that most had, since it's long. Another one is the weapons are usualy the same. Rockets, Missles and Quakes, oh my. Maybe for suggestions for you could be a mine that shoots gun fire in a 360 phase for a few seconds before getting destroyed, have like a mortar weapon, a self destructing, bouncing grenade; and maybe a cup of tea to lure people and to find out you put an nuclear bomb inside the tea. Think outside the box
For your designs on the ship, they are simply amazing, seeing each ship has their unique abblity, like for this one, Agility. Good for turning but having to be good somewhat on speed. I love how you did with Auricom's design and it must have taken a alot of work into making, as I want to create a game such as this when I graduate. My suggestion for a quote on Auricom could maybe be this one day in a WipEout franchise. "Read a book, people.
But for some questionos; since I know you guys are making a new WipEout "Trinity" from the quotes of it. Will it be based on another FX League like maybe the FX500-600 League, or for a major suggestion since you guys made a game before the F3600 League, but maybe before WipEout Pure when there was this "Amature" league around? Will there be more locations than on Earth? Yes, having a league around the world is awsome, but since it's almost 300 years in the future, we could be making colonies in the moon, Mars, maybe on Ceres or on another planet that is more Earth like. Will there be more tracks like on WipEout Pulse? Having a white and black verson sounds nice, but humorly; it just sounds racist. *splattered by Icaras* Will there be new teams/ new designs for the ships? I was a bit disapointed to see some of the ship's designs being used from WipEout pure, going to Pulse. And lastly, will this be released to the X-Box 360? I know I sound a bit irrational but I allways owned a X-box 360 and I can't owe a PS3 at this time, but maybe do that to make all fans happy? :3 I shall wait for ya reply, but maybe I can help on ideas for weapon/team ideas. But like again, Great work on the ships.
Was it much of a challenge to make the ships?
I mean, the game happens in 2048, so, was it a point to not make the ships as advanced looking as the ones from HD and Fury?
Yes we made a point of them looking a bit... clunky!
Problem is.. WipEout2048 Pre-dates the 1st WipEout game which was released in 1995! and due to limitations at the time.. the ships are nothing more than triangles! So we had to make them pre-date them in a way (take certain design cues) but still imagine 30 years from NOW... not 30 years from what design was in 1995!
And yes... while still making them less advanced as HD and FURY!
I think it appears well on the speed type, like the Qirex speed.
Good job! The WipEout series always been in advance in terms of design, in my humble opinion.
But suddenly appears ...
Qirex: Satisfied!! *she punched in the face of him*
...*CONTENDER ELIMINATED!*
Seriously..looks amazing...these are all so beautiful!
Yes.. DO THE MATH
I could change it to ALUMINIUM JAGUAR if you want... but you wouldn't be able to read it correctly.
