Molotov Uradna-66 - PlayStation3 In game model
My role on MotorStorm Apocalypse was wide and varied. I worked as both a Vehicle and Environment artist.
Most of the project I worked as a Vehicle Artist seeing the in game assets through from creation to their final in game state. This consisted of designing some vehicles on the fly as they were modelled, or building others from pre approved designs. After the vehicle model was completed, work continued with modelling 'swap parts' which are used in the vehicle customisation feature; rigging the suspension (using HAVOK), creating LODs, adding shadow and collision boxes, setting the vehicle up to work with the dirt \ damage system, and correctly laying out UVs so it works in the in game livery editor. It is for those reasons, unfortunately, I have to example my work Via screen shots instead of renders.
The Motorstom franchise is primarily developed by Evolution Studios, however since Evolution Studios was acquired by Sony, occasionaly Studio Liverpool and Evolution join forces to work on the same project. MotorStorm 2 (Pacific Rift) and MotorStorm 3 (Apocalypse) where both developed as joint ventures.
MotorStorm: Apocalypse was released in Europe on 16 March 2011 (3rd May 2011 in North America).
